A new party has been formed in Mercia, known as the Würtige Unionist Party in Mercia. We currently have two members, myself and Duke Lobão, fulfilling the necessary two member criterion. I will be standing in the Province of Wibertsherne in the upcoming election.
The Würtige Unionist Party in Mercia aims to protect and expand the culture of Clyro and Loringia and their relation to the Empire. The primary form of this will be the protection of the Diarchy, as it is the main source of culture in the nation. Democracy will not be opposed, as it allows other citizens to involve themselves with the cultural process, but any attempts to remove the Lords' power will be blocked.
In addition, the Würtige Unionist Party in Mercia will protect the Mercian Christian Church. The Church is a key part of Mercia's culture and even the running of the nation, as the Synod is entitled to a representative in Parliament and the Cabinet. As a Christian state, it is important that the Church guides the laws of Mercia.
Particular items of culture will be created to represent Mercia. These items will, of course, be created with the permission and guidance of the Lords. The creation of a national language: a spiritual successor to the historical Prospekh language, with similar ideas (influenced by Celtic and Germanic languages) but of greater structure and quality. The idea of the Clyran Sterling will be revisited, with the possible creation of a new variation of the Mark in Mercia.
Societies such as the Waistcoat Club Service will be revamped, as in their current form they do very little, if anything. Depending on the success of this, other societies will be created for similar roles. In this way, the Würtige Unionist Party in Mercia hopes to assist the Lords in the conveyance of culture in Clyro and Loringia.
