28 June Agricultural Gorsedh Bill This Bill: Will establish the Agricultural Gorsedh, a government organisation which will be responsible for the development of the Mercian agricultural sector. This organisation will encourage small scale agriculture with a view to reducing imports of macronational produce and encouraging environmental awareness. The organisation would also be the main regulatory authority for the agricultural sector.
1 The Agricultural Gorsedh is hereby established as the government body responsible for overseeing the agricultural sector of Mercia.
2 A director will be appointed to manage the activities of the Agricultural Gorsedh by a majority vote of Parliament.
3 The Gorsedh will work to promote agriculture within Mercia by consulting with citizens, identifying sites suitable for the cultivation of plants, distributing seeds and other useful materials, and discussing with governments of other countries pursuing similar projects.
4 The Gorsedh will be responsible for regulating agricultural practises in Mercia. It will be responsible for approving and banning agricultural inputs like fertilisers, pesticides and other chemicals and materials used by growers. All such inputs may not be used unless first approved by the Gorsedh.
